Tamrac 3537 Express 7 Khakhi Camera Bag Review

When you first come across this camera bag on Amazon, you notice immediately around 50 customer reviews, and most of them (90%) are 5 star positive reviews and I clearly see why. Perfect for the casual to avid amateur photographers out there!

• This is one of those bags that has the color pinned down for a woman to confidently carry around and so definitely falls in the category of "Camera Bags For Women" And it's not just the color of the camera bag, it's the whole shape and size of it. One reviewer (G. Wirsig) is quoted saying "even though my 82 year old dad said it looked like a purse when he first saw it"
• Doesn't look too masculine at all so if you choose to go for this particular camera bag, then go for the Khaki one. It is quite sophisticated especially since its highlighted in ultra suede accents. 
• Doesn't give away that it houses expensive camera gear too...looks like a regular messenger style bag!

 

• The following positive point is especially good if you are worried about buying a bag that is not big enough for your SLR's zoom lens because this baby can hold and protect a DSLR zoom lens upto 6" and has room for additional lens + flash accessories.
• My 2nd favorite pro on the Tamra 3537 Express is you can slip the bag over the handle of rolling luggage all thanks to the piggy-back pocket. How neat is that!
• Talking about carrying the bag around comfortably, it comes with an adjustable shoulder strap as well as a padded carrying handle so you have both options. I have discussed many camera bags like the Acme Bowler (my review on it here) which many wish came with a shoulder strap. Trust me, you want one of those!
• Storage has also been thought of as this camera bag has pockets, one on the side and the flap pocket up front, both of which will house a lot of those small goodies you want to carry around whether its make up or your cell phone, mp3 player, batteries, memory cards, cords and cables (have a look at the product picture to your right for a better idea).
• The zippered flap pocket in the front means though full length was created for quick easy access hence the camera bag being called "Express".
• Protection is also taken care as the equipment sits organized inside and has the least chances of falling out of the bag so you can rest assure that the bag will be safe. The carry handle is intelligently sewn to the back and not the center top of the bag making sure nothing falls out. They've thought of everything and ticked all the boxes.
• The camera bag is priced right at $54.95, the product name being on par with Lowepro and especially a wise purchase choice because it's cheaper than its competitors like the Crumpler million series.
• It has a built-in padding for extra internal cushion security protecting your gear.

This tomboy-ish camera bag has got me baffled. I don't know what to feel about this one. It is sort of cute and quirky yet not so feminine. It is $35 so that's one plus point. Let's discuss this further with me giving you its features, pros and cons so read on....

Pros:

• It is a 100% cotton camera bag, great for carrying out during the summer months.
• Has a large magnetic snap.
• It has 5 colors to choose from, out of which I love the pretty pink and the beige ones. The pink camera bag with the camera pic on the flap would really make it an ideal pick for a woman which is why I grabbed it out of the lot and decided to write on it.
• Great price ($35).
• It has exterior and interior zippered pockets which is a bonus as that means extra storage.
• Speaking of extra storage, that's not all, it has storage side pockets which will fit small accessories like memory cards and batteries for instance.
• Available colors to choose from are as follows:
• Putty
• Denim
• Java
• Crunch Berry (the best pick!)
• Khaki Green
• It is quite roomy, the dimensions of this bag are
• Depth: 4.75" 
• Length: 16" 
• Width: 11.5"
• This camera bag is an authentic pigment-dyed bag+ 14 oz. enzyme-washed canvas.
• Also raw-edged though I'm not entirely sure what that is, do let me know if you have a clue!
• Adjustable cotton webbing shoulder strap great for comfortably carrying around.
• The bag has an antique brass slider and D-ring which totally goes with the look of the bag, very hip and bohemian, very trendy.
• The vendors are well known and have great policies on returns, exchanges and have good turn around times, as well as great customer service.

Cons:

• It is not the most feminine girly camera bag around but has a certain look to it that is undeniably cute and trendy.

Tamrac Explorer 10 DSLR Blue Camera Bag Review

Tamrac Explorer 10 DSLR Blue Camera Bag is a very popular camera bag with plenty of great reviews and a very affordable price too. Now I know it's not the most lady like camera bag to carry on but humor me here and read on for an in-depth review:

• The first pro I must must mention is of course the cost. A pre-loved piece will cost you $15 and a brand new one around $25.
• It features something called the Tamrac Explorer 10 DSLR Blue Camera Bag's Dual Foam Technology which is meant specifically for your camera and belongings protection, so it is for shock protection and in most cases, a custom fit to equipment. The Dual Foam Technology combines closed-cell foam to provide maximum shock protection with open-cell foam for vibration dampening and a custom fit.
• It also has Tamrac's patented Memory & Battery Management System, which uses red flags to identify which memory cards and batteries are available. I find this intensely fascinating. Basically this tells you which is used up or not.
• This Tamrac Explorer has what is called a Total Coverage Top with a quick-release buckle and zipper closures and these features are especially handy in providing weather protection. This is one of my favorite features. Check it out here.
• I am particular about the shoulder strap of women's camera bags. We are so used to carrying handbags that we're ecstatic when we find one that is non-slip. Yep! This Tamrac Explorer has an adjustable  "BioCurve" which is a non-slip shoulder strap as well as an EasyGrip carrying handle. These features combined provide convenient carrying options for us avid photographers.
• Perfect for Canon's Digital Rebel XT or Nikon's D50 so if you're an owner of these Canon or Nikon cameras, you are in luck, big time!
• Now if you've been following my posts, you'll know how I love quick access. This camera bag has a Speed Pocket on the front flap which basically means that it secures and provides quick access to small accessories. You'll notice in the product's picture I've pasted on here what it can fit and how it looks.
• The Tamrac Explorer 10 DSLR Blue Camera Bag has a lid that is a smooth nylon pocket for holding lens cleaning paper. That is one unique feature I don't think we see very often.
• This bag has a Strap Accessory System (SAS) for personalizing and customizing what they carry around.

 

• I agree that it can be a bit small depending on your camera so if you have a small lens, a compact digital or film SLR, this camera bag is perfect.
